TrailHeads Prepares for 35th Annual Lake Waramaug Polar Bear Run

As promised we’re getting organized earlier this year! Preparations for the 35th Annual Polar Bear Run are in full swing and you can sign up for this year’s race at lakewaramaugpolarbearrun.com!

We’re proud to be returning as sponsors this year along with The Lions Club of Kent, Kent Wine & Spirit, and Washington EMS. And we are ever grateful to our host and sponsor the Lake Waramaug Country Club! Fast Track Timing is back on board to time every second of your race!

This beautiful 7.6 mile loop wends around a glacial lake and passes through the towns of Kent, Warren, New Preston, and Washington, CT. The race attracts runners from all over the Connecticut, and brings in people from neighboring states. No matter where you’re coming from, sign up quick, the first 300 registrants will receive a complementary Lake Waramaug Polar Bear Multiband from TrailHeads!

This year the proceeds of the race will again be going to support Guiding Eyes for the Blind. This organization trains guide dogs to partner with people who are blind or visually impaired. Additional donations are welcome via the event page and can also be made on the day of the race.

Connecticut weather during February can be wildly unpredictable. Last year’s race took place the day after a blizzard. We are looking forward to whatever adventure this year’s conditions bring and will keep you updated via our Lake Waramaug Polar Bear Run Facebook Page on what to prepare for.

We hope you’re as excited as we are for this year’s race! See you at 11 am at the start line on February 24th!
